Racism and Thick Libertarianism

Over at youtube, Xomniverse made an excellent video that demonstrates the problems with a "thin" approach to libertarianism as it pertains to the issue of racism.

That's pretty cool, in more ways than one. Was that all original text? If so, it was very well done.

Unity-of-virtue FTW.

This is part of a broader debate on youtube that's been going on between me, together with some of the "thicker" libertarians, and confederalsocialist, together with some of the "thinner" libertarians. I just made a video in this format responding to confederalsocialist's response to this video, explaining what "thick libertarianism" is about in more detail.

This is an engaging video. More than that--well, I'm late to the party. I hadn't seen XtraNormal before, and I've been spending way too much time with it since you introduced me to it. Thanks a lot!

I just started using it today. I had seen a few people before that used it on youtube, but XOmniverse's video was what inspired me to start messing with it.

And neverfox: yes, I'm quite certain that it was all original text. The way the program works is that you put your own text in, control camera angles, backgrounds, and other such things.

Thanks for drawing my attention to this video. People should use Socratic dialogues like this more often.

Who is this "confederalsocialist" chap, exactly?

That's quite a long story that goes back a few years on youtube. In a nutshell: a white nationalist type decided to go "anarchist" about a year ago, went on to push for "national anarchism", and then more covertly went on to defend and appease ethnic nationalists after trying to distance himself from that stuff - all of which entailed a lengthy bit of controversy and debate among youtube anarchists.

A White nationalist? Jesus!

So he pretty much only became an "anarchist" to try and give his ideas more respectability?

That's one of my suspicions: that anti-statism provided a way to take away the stigma, by being able to claim "hey, its voluntary" and reintroduce the same social model under the banner of "restrictive covenants" and the like.

You are right. The Confederalsocialist is a Nazi infiltrating the anarchist movement. This video is blatant.

The History Channel DVD called *The Ku Klux Klan: A Secret History* describes what the raciss groups are doing.

Racist groups in America often rise quickly during social crises. They are now trying to repackage themselves, like David Duke, so that they can take advantage of the next crises.

The anarchist movement should spit these racists out because they want to use it for very evil purposes.
